Eric

Eric’s journey to Long Past Due has been a long but rewarding one.  Known by some as Sty, Stylo, or Styles, he started off by playing guitar as a young teenager before eventually picking up keyboard.  Oddly enough, bass was actually the last of the instruments he became passionate about, but it quickly became one of his favorites.  His first experience with a band came when he helped form First Class Heroes with some friends.  The band went through a line-up change and was renamed Frontline, but their run, which was highlighted by a show at the Worcester Palladium, was relatively short-lived (perhaps unintentionally naming the band after a flea and tick collar was the beginning of the end).   Eric briefly played in Ty Cobb (yes, named after the baseball player), which was a trippy instrumental jam band that played a few shows in the Haverhill MA/Plaistow NH area in 2003 before sitting in on bass a few times for singer/songwriter Jay Broyer in 2006.  While Eric has continued to write and record music over the years through his solo/side project, these shows would prove to be the final times he would play on stage with bands…until now.

After over a decade of longing to be a part of a special musical collaboration once again, Eric has found his home in Long Past Due.  He enters the fray with the hope that he can contribute creatively to the evolution of the band.  He also joins more than ready to finally play that elusive first show in eleven years.  He approaches music and songwriting with a “think outside the box” mindset, and his goal is for the listener to experience something powerful and chill-inducing through every melody, rhythm, and lyric.  This is a collaboration that truly is long past due…
